Spaghettone Gragnano by Afeltra is a thick, slow-dried spaghetti made in the traditional pasta-making town of Gragnano, near Naples. Bronze-drawn from 100% Italian durum wheat semolina, this generous pasta format has a rough, porous surface that grips sauce beautifully with every bite.
Spaghettone – meaning “big spaghetti” – is wider and thicker than standard spaghetti, giving it a satisfying chew and the body to stand up to bold, rich sauces. Dried slowly at low temperatures following the Gragnano IGP tradition, it cooks perfectly al dente and holds its texture even after saucing.
Perfect with
- Carbonara – the thickness carries the egg and guanciale sauce without breaking
- Amatriciana – pairs beautifully with tomato, Pecorino and cured pork
- Aglio e olio – the rough surface clings to olive oil and garlic
- Seafood sauces – especially bottarga, clams or prawn bisque
